A rapidly scaling AI software development startup based in Northern California is seeking a Strategic Finance & Business Operations professional to join as a foundational hire. This person will report directly to the Head of Finance and work closely with the founders, splitting time between strategic finance and high-impact business operations initiatives. Responsibilities span building financial models and real-time reporting dashboards, owning FP&A and annual planning, and leading ambiguous, high-priority projects such as market analysis, vendor evaluation, and partnership assessment. This position offers a competitive compensation package.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience at a top-tier investment bank, private equity firm, or top consulting firm
- Expert-level Excel/Google Sheets financial modeling skills, including three-statement models and unit economics
- Degree from a top-tier or Ivy League university, ideally in finance, economics, or a quantitative field
- Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and is comfortable operating independently in a flat organization with no managers
- High sense of urgency and ownership, comfortable with long hours and rapid change at a high-growth startup
- SQL proficiency and familiarity with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau a plus
