Apply to Patient Care Manager
An early-stage healthcare and life sciences company delivering highly individualized treatments is building its patient care team in San Francisco and is hiring a Patient Case Manager. You will be the trusted guide for a group of patients, their families and their physicians, using regular emails and video calls to walk each person through a personalized care journey, from first enquiry and eligibility review through treatment preparation, delivery and follow-up. Day to day you will gather medical records, manage consent paperwork, coordinate sample collection and shipping with physicians and labs, and hold sensitive conversations about risks, costs and financial aid with compassion. You will also build the patient trackers and processes that do not exist yet, with the opportunity to train and lead new case managers as the team grows. This role includes equity, flexibility over time, company-funded travel, visa transfers and sponsorship, and a clear path into team leadership.
Qualifications
- Direct patient-facing or client-facing coordination experience, such as nurse navigation, patient services, case management, care coordination or clinical-trial patient support.
- A proven record of handling sensitive, difficult conversations directly with patients and families, beyond administrative work behind the scenes.
- Compassionate communication in distressing situations.
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Comfort managing complex, time-sensitive logistics across multiple outside parties, keeping every case moving with nothing dropped.
- A college degree with a solid academic background.
- Preferred: Oncology or other serious-illness experience, a medical or nursing background, familiarity with HIPAA, GCP and specimen handling, experience with personalized or cell-based therapy programs or clinical-trial enrollment, and experience building processes from scratch.
